Bonding with your family is very important if you want to maintain a strong foundation for your family and for future generations to come. The family unit is what makes life worth living which is why it is important to spend quality time together to make sure your family grows healthy relationships with one another. The summer time is always a great time to do great family activities. An inexpensive yet fun activity families can do in the summer is family picnics. Most parks require no upfront fees to reserve a picnic table, barbeque, swim in the pool, and play a few outdoor games. Going to the park can be an all day event or a weekend getaway if there are camping sites near the park. Another fun activity to do in the summer is to visit an amusement park near your community. You can often receive discounts for a group of four or more. The beach is one of the most relaxing yet exciting family activities to do because you have the water, the sand, and just pure fresh air. Some beaches have snorkeling, scuba diving, banana boat rides, water slides for additional fun activities. For families who like to cook, creating or cooking recipes are always fun becaue everybody gets to partake in the festivities.

Kids love nothing more than to play outside. Running and frolicking around outdoors on a sunny day is a must for young ones. But, what do they do when the weather takes this option away from them? Rainy days attempt to spoil the fun for kids, however, it does not have to. There are a couple of great rainy day activities you and your kids can do to reclaim the joy. One is playing traditional board games, and another is crafting. Both of these activities have been proven to keep the little ones in your life motivated on even the rainiest of days.

Although there is nothing wrong with electronic games, which are growing in popularity with kids these days, traditional board games offer children a more “hands on” gaming experience. There is still something special about actually handling the game pieces, such as dice, cards, and other items, as opposed to only pushing buttons for game play.

Crafting with your children is another rainy day activity you can do. Every home has something they can use to make crafts on the spur-of-the-minute. For instance, paper mache can be made with newspaper and flour, and, origami crafts only require paper. Your children will be so engrossed with this activity, they will soon forget that it is even raining outside.

You probably spend a lot of time thinking about your home – visiting sites like www.homesecuritysystem.com and talking about paint colors and which flowers work well in the yard – but do you connect with your kids there? Here are a few tips for making home improvements while bonding with your family
Start a Garden: If you’ve got room or even a deck, start a small vegetable garden. Your kids will love to tend it and the project goes on and on – think herb pots and hanging tomato plants if limited space is an issue.
Make a Family Room: Reinvent a space in the house as a “family room” with some elements of everyone’s personality. Ask each child to make a painting to represent themselves or specify one thing they want in the room (i.e. board games, a dartboard, a place to write, etc.)
Clean Together: Now’s a great time to clean out for winter and the kids can help. Pick a day and ask everyone to go to town on their own room then go together to donate old supplies to groups like Goodwill.

Spending time with your kids outdoors is a wonderful opportunity for play and exploration.
One of my favorite activities is to plan a picnic. Eating outdoors is so much fun and children of all ages love it! Children also enjoy the fun of packing their lunches; sandwiches, raisins, cookies, and fruit all work great. For added fun, bring along some bubbles or a ball to play with.
Kite flying is another great outdoor activity. It is best to find an area with plenty of space; perhaps you live near a beach or large park, which would work very well.
Exploring your own backyard can be a fun activity; children of all ages will enjoy learning about various types of flowers and picking a colorful bouquet. Bring binoculars and take turns looking for birds and butterflies or fill birdfeeders to attract even more wildlife.
If you live near a beach, looking for seashells along the shore and watching seagulls in flight can be a fun adventure.
Older children will enjoy an evening under the stars. This is a great way to teach kids about space; if you have a telescope, pick a clear evening to see the wonders of a full moon.

A family vacation can be an amazing chance to bond with your children. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we can sometimes forget to reserve attention for the people most important to us. A vacation allows you to experience time with your family outside of the home setting. Seeing the smiles on your children’s faces as they explore new places and try new things makes the money spent planning a vacation worth every penny. Read on to discover the best vacations for every type of family.

Vacations for the Adventurous
Are your children of the rough and tumble variety? A theme park vacation could be perfect for you. The thrills and chills associated with roller coasters are sure to put wind in your hair and a smile on your face. The many family-friendly theme parks in this country mean that you never have to travel far to get there, and most have rides for even the smallest thrill seekers. A theme park adventure is perfect for families who desire a high energy vacation.

Vacations for the Exhausted
Tired of the rat race? A beach vacation is just the ticket for rest and relaxation. Beach combing, splashing in the surf, exploring tide pools and watching Pacific sunsets or Atlantic sunrises restore your tired mind and provide plenty of opportunity for family bonding. When your life is hectic, your vacation should not be. A beach vacation provides a much-needed break from everyday life.

Vacations for Nature Lovers
Is roughing it your style? A camping trip is a great way to escape the bright lights of the city. National forests offer camping opportunities galore. Pitch a tent, light a fire and watch the stars come out as you roast marshmallows and sing a song. The memories made on a family camping trip (or any family vacation) will last a lifetime.

Spending quality time with your family should be the number one priority in your life. Unfortunately many parents put family time activities on the backburner in place of television, friends, work or daily stresses. If you are looking to spend more time with your children, there are many activities that appeal to both parent and child. Hopefully you will use them to have more one on one time with your kids and to create long lasting memories they will cherish forever.
Games are a great way for everyone in the family to come together. Board games are not only positive for educational and cognitive development within children; they are a whole lot of fun. Many games teach quality lessons such as counting, adding and deductive reasoning. Finding the perfect balance between educational and entertaining, board games can be one of the best investments any parent can make.
Arts and crafts can be created as a family. For holidays, consider creating a trinket or craft together that will last through the years. On lazy or rainy days, take out the crafts to keep things fun and exciting. Many families forget how much fun beading, painting, coloring and weaving can be. Other crafts include knitting, sewing and puzzle making.

Cooking is a great opportunity to bring the family together. Starting to cook with your children at a young age can inspire lifelong attitudes about food as well as produce wonderful memories. Look for easy and simple recipes that your children will want to gobble up afterwards.

Everyone remembers the old standby, “pigs in a blanket”; the delicious crescent roll stuffed with cheese and a hot dog. Making pancakes on a Sunday morning has always been a treat in my family. Just be sure to remember the skill level of each child. One may be able to measure ingredients while another is only capable of mixing. Don’t forget about planning some meals together so that they have some input as to what they would like to cook. It can be as simple as a salad or a more difficult entree.

Making homemade pizza is always a treat especially if each gets their own pie. Pasta dishes are always good because of the versatility of what one can make. Make your own homemade mac and cheese. Quesadillas, enchiladas and tacos are easy and delicious and you can put your own twist on the recipes. Let’s not forget about dessert. Bake up a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies, sandwiched together with a scoop of ice cream and you have a delectable, easy dessert.
